For over a hundred years, photography has been the medium of choice to document our lives. Unfortunately, film is not a very good archival medium. Current black and white film and prints when stored correctly may last 75 to 100 years and color film and prints are lucky to see 25 years. Older film and printing papers have even worse archival qualities. All photographs are susceptible to fading, and when not stored properly, they are susceptible to creases and tears.

We all have family photographs which are cracked, creased, faded, torn, off colour, too dark, too light or badly stained. Our photograph restoration service can bring these photographs back to first class condition.

There is no risk of damage to the original photograph which will copied and returned completely unaltered.

So often when coming across old family photos or historic photos, they are in definite need of restoration. We use the latest digital technology to restore and retouch your historic photos and then we can print the restored image on our Epson 2000P archival printer. The Epson 2000P is a photographic printer that prints with archival quality inks. These inks are rated with a lifespan of 200 years when stored out of direct light.

Cost

Restoring old photos using tradition darkroom methods is time consuming and therefore expensive. Using digital technology speeds up the process significantly, making it cost effective to restore all of your photos.

Digital technology provides better tools to restore your photos than traditional methods.

Safety

We only need your originals for the length of time it takes to scan them. We can do this while you wait, or for larger jobs we can even do the scanning at your home or office so your treasured photographs never have to leave your possession.

Archivability

We can provide you with photos printed on the Epson 2000P with their estimated 200 year life span and for extra safety, you will receive a CD-ROM with the digital images. This can easily be stored in a safe deposit box or fireproof safe, and in the event the printed image is destroyed, you will always have the digital version so that another copy could be printed

PRICING
For repairs and/or Image creations

We charge a flat $30 an hour for restoration.
We charge a minimum of one hour per picture to repair and manipulation. You receive a photo quality print of the manipulated photo. You also receive a CD with all the photos you request to be scanned and manipulated with both old and new photos saved.

There is a flat fee of $10 for the print (up to 4x6) and CD - Larger sized photographs will be charged at a higher rate
